Home Midday Walks Pet Sitting Overnight Stays

We get lots of questions here at Tyler's, here are a few of the most asked. If your question is not answered here, please call or email us and we'll be happy to answer them.

General Questions

  1. What does "bonded and insured" mean? - Your pets are usually insured through your homeowner's or renter's policies. However, once they leave the property, they are no longer covered, which is where our insurance kicks in. Our dishonesty bond protects your home and property against theft and damage. Never hire a pet sitter or dog walker that's not bonded and insured!

  2. How will you get into my home? - For all of our services, we usually obtain a key during our initial consultation, that way no matter when you need a visit, grooming, or training we'll be ready to provide the services your pets need.

  3. Does your service use outside contractors? - No! All of our walkers, sitters, groomers and bakers are employees of Tyler's Pet Service. We do not use independent contractors.

  4. How can I identify a member of your staff? - Every Tyler's employee, regardless of their position with us, will be wearing our company t-shirt for easy identification.

  5. How will I be billed for your services? - For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard and most debit cards. Services are billed weekly, every Monday, for all services rendered the previous week. You'll never need to write a check or waste money on stamps with Tyler's.

  6. Can I cancel visits/appointments after I schedule them? - Yes! You may cancel any service up until 9am on the day of the visit without penalty. Cancellations received after 9am will be billed at our normal rates.

Midday Walks

  1. How long do your pet visits last? - Our visits are usually 20-25 minutes long depending on what your pets require.

  2. Do you charge extra for more than one pet? - Many services charge extra for a second pet, but not Tyler's. We keep things simple by having just one price for up to two pets. Additional pets may cost more if they cannot be walked together.

  3. Will different people be coming to my home? - We pair each client with a primary walker, so your pets will have the same person every day. Occasionally a backup walker is needed, but all visitors to your home will have met your pets before entering your home by themselves.

Pet Sitting

  1. Do you offer boarding services? - No, our pet sitting services are all performed at your home so you never have to worry about dropping off or picking up your pets.

Overnight Stays

  1. Does an overnight stay include daytime services? - No, midday walks are not included in our price, but can easily be added to your schedule.

  2. How long will your pet sitter stay at my house? - That will depend on the sitter's schedule and your requirements, but typically ten hours per night.

Did you know?
Although dogs are creatures of habit, they still crave exercise – both physical and mental. All dogs should have at least a 20-30 minute walk every day to remain healthy and happy. Larger and high energy dogs may require up to one hour a day of exercise.

If you don’t provide regular exercise, dogs will get bored and start to entertain themselves – often by doing things you don’t like.

Bored dogs may:

    • Dig
    • Chew
    • Run away
    • Bark incessantly
    • Harass other pets
